Are you age 55 and up? Looking for ways to stay involved while remaining safely at home during the COVID-19 outbreak? Then this is the perfect opportunity for you! We are looking for volunteers who want to help homebound seniors and people with disabilities stay connected to their communities.
If you love talking on the phone, writing letters, or making and sending cards to lift someone else's spirits then this is the opportunity for you! We provide training, helpful conversation starter questions, and make every effort possible to match volunteers and clients with common interests to help facilitate conversation. Our goal is to help connect our community at a time when people are having to distance themselves from others. Just because we can't physically be around others doesn't mean we are alone, and now, more than ever, our homebound seniors and people with disabilities need to stay connected to their communities.
Just a short phone call at least two times per week to check in on someone and ensure that they're okay makes such a difference.
To learn more about this opportunity call Shannon Collins, RSVP Director at (423)318-6912 or (423)621-1943.
