We are looking for a registered Nurse who is has a license in State of Minnesota to

  • Provide health care services to program clients.
  • Monitor client medications and evaluate effectiveness and side effects; report assessment to attending physician as necessary.
  • Supervise and maintain all records of client medication use.
  • Instruct clients on responsible care of medication.
  • Advise clinical staff of ongoing medical concerns as they pertain to client therapy and daily living.
  • Assist clinical staff with the development of treatment goals as they relate to medical issues and/or concerns.
  • Communicate health care concerns with client’s attending physician or health care providers and advise staff of medical care arrangements.
  • Train staff in observing medications and documentations.
  • Assist director with program data collection, as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Minnesota Nursing License.
  • Ability to structure time well and develop priorities.
  • Must pass a Minnesota Department of Human Services background check.

Description

Somali American Women Action Center is a refugee women led organization tailored towards enriching the lives of Immigrants and refugee women in Minnesota. Minnesota is the home of many Immigrants women who experienced education and employment disparities, which force them to live below the poverty line and rely heavily on social assistance to support their families. Multiple barriers prevent them from furthering their education and securing living wage employments. Currently, low skill and low paying jobs are available. Therefore through a participatory approaches we provide these women the space and the programming that fits their path of achieving and thriving.
