At Restore Education, our mission is to restore individuals’ potential for success on their path to college and career through the transformative power of education.
Restore Education volunteer tutors assist students with the following:
Preparing students for the Spanish GED and HiSet exams to achieve a high school equivalency certification. Subjects include Math, Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, and Writing.
Developing student study habits, problem solving, critical thinking, and test taking skills
Maintaining focus and enthusiasm as they work to reach their academic goals.
We have a particular need for math and science tutors. Restore Education provides tutors with training and all teaching materials. To minimize potential exposure to our students, staff, and volunteers, all interactions are currently through Zoom. Minimum requirements: high speed internet, personal laptop with camera, and headphones with a microphone.
We are seeking volunteers for the following weekly schedule opening:
Our students come from diverse backgrounds and with varied educational experiences. We have a wide range in participant ages and academic starting points. If you want to be part of someone's educational journey, come join us! Becoming a tutor at Restore Education can have a lasting impact in the lives of both the student and the tutor. In the words of one of our current volunteers, "If you believe in the value of lifelong learning, this is the volunteer gig for you!"
Our mission is to transform the at-risk youth of San Antonio into successful college and career ready students, so that they can achieve the future they deserve as self-supporting adults, role models as parents, and contributing members of the community.
Here at Restore Education, we offer a continuum of services to empower and equip at-risk youth, who have dropped out of school, with the purpose and skills necessary for successful, positive impact in their own lives, the lives of their families, and their community.
