We are working directly with protestors and human rights activists on the ground in Iraq, where over 600 protestors have been killed and many thousands wounded, by government forces and government-sponsored militias.
Volunteers can be involved in several facets of this effort:
raising up the cases of specific kidnapped journalists and others;
lobbying congressional staff to pressure the new government for their release;
helping raise funds for medical care for injured protestors;
writing about the background of the story to help raise awareness;
Our overall goal is to support those who have been putting themselves on the line for freedom and democracy, and to put pressure on the government to prevent future violence by demanding accountability for past actions.
Because of COVID-19, protestors have not been able to be out on the streets as they were before, so its important to have digital methods of advocacy.

We created civ.works as a platform for all of us to work together to overcome the corrupting influence of money in politics. Together we can address bad policy, legislation and to hold all of our elected officials accountable. For democracy to work -our government must represent "We the People". civ.works: Together. We can.
civ.works is a privacy protected social platform built for meaningful civic action.
The concept of civ.works is to finally provide a societal machine to stand up against something created nearly 50 years ago -and begin the process of empowering citizens again. We are building a platform together -against an incredibly mature and well-funded machine. Your volunteer efforts will be helping us collectively build something powerful and important.
