We're an animal shelter in La Puente/Rowland Heights and are looking for a few volunteers in the area who can help us pick up supply donations - we often get calls/messages or find people who are throwing out supplies like blankets, dog crates, kennels, sheets, etc. during this time after cleaning out their houses and are in great need of people who can help us pick them up and drop them off at our shelter! If you've got a little extra time, this would be a HUGE help for us. We're prepping for kitten season and need lots of crates and blankets.
We only pick stuff up in a 20 minute radius of us, so you won't need to do too much driving. Contact-free pickup / drop-off for the whole thing! When you pick the stuff up, we'll have the donors leave the stuff outside (lots of them aren't able to drive at this moment or are seniors and cannot drive) and you can drop it off at our gate.
Please text Kim at 6266768037 or email at kimchenvidarescue@gmail.com if you can help!
Thanks!!!

Mission Statement
Our mission is to protect and help dogs and cats from homelessness neglect, abuse, cruelty and abandonment. VIDA does not belong to any one person but instead to all of its volunteers. We adopt out about 50-60 cats and dogs per month - we rescue dogs from high-kill shelters, low income neighborhoods, and from the streets of Mexico. We also have spay and neuter operations and have saved thousands of animals already. www.vida4animals.org www.instagram.com/vidarescue www.facebook.com/vidarescue
Description
Volunteers in Defense of Animals is a non-profit organization working to end the suffering and mistreatment of dogs and cats in Southern California. We bring spay and neuter services to areas where families cannot afford them; we facilitate the rescue, foster care, and adoption of animals whenever possible, and we offer education and support to those involved in the care of animals.
We have found forever homes for hundreds of dogs and cats, with around 4-5 new adoptions taking place each week. Many of our dogs come from local high-kill shelters before they are euthanized and on the streets of both the US and Mexico. We also have spay/neuter operations in low-income neighborhoods in the US and in Mexico and have spayed/neutered thousands of pets.
