Mission Statement

Establish and maintain a shelter that provides a safe environment for homeless and abandoned dogs and puppies. To spay, neuter, vaccinate and provide any medical attention the animal needs while staying at the rescue. To place our canines in safe, loving and permanent homes with responsible pet owners. To accomplish this within 30 days of the animal arriving, due to the fact that Sutter Buttes Canine Rescue is not a sanctuary.

Description

The Rescue was started in 2000 by our Founder, Yvonne Moore. Since that time we have placed over 6500 animals into loving, permanent homes. In 2008 We were able to build a brand new shelter which has the capabilities of housing 18-20 dogs at a time. The shelter is room and there is a play yard for the dogs, as well as a bathing and grooming area, and outdoor exercise kennels. We also conduct adoption sites within our communities, as well as providing education and resources for those that adopt and care for animals. We place our animals on different social media sites to help them get adopted. We opened a Thrift Shop in 2008 which provides direct funding for our shelter. The proceeds from the thrift shop provide, food, shelter, medical care, vaccines, spaying and neutering, as well as all other necessities. Our Thrift Shop is very active within the community providing goods for homeless people, as well as a program for participants with disabilities where we offer training and job experience to help them move on to regular employment. We also work with agencies providing training for those that have never had work experience and also seniors looking for work experience to help them with future employment. We provide continuing education to our community on the importance of spaying and neutering. We are very proud of our accomplishments and we continue with the goals of placing homeless animals into permanent, loving homes.
