We are looking for Social Media Coordinators to work with us on our campaign for 10,000 Pies for Black Power Blueprint.

This is an unpaid volunteer position that will reward you with the satisfaction that you are creating commerce, housing and economic development in the black community.

Black Power Blueprint projects are about self-determination, stopping gentrification, uplifting and empowering the entire African community. Bring meaning to your holiday season. Currently they include Uhuru House community centers, community event spaces in Oakland, CA, St. Louis, MO and St. Petersburg, FL and coming in soon, a community commercial kitchen, bakery/cafe and African Independence Workforce Program in St. Louis, Missouri.

Summary of Qualifications:
Under the supervision of the Volunteer Recruitment Coordinator, the Social Media Coordinator is responsible for posting and promoting volunteer opportunities and events on social media outlets. The Social Media Coordinator promotes Uhuru Foods & Pies as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Black Star Industries, winning support for the self-determination and economic self-reliance programs of the Uhuru Movement and for the quality of Uhuru Foods.

Essential Functions:
*Post and promote photos, videos and descriptions of volunteer positions and shifts, and upcoming Uhuru events on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and other social media sources..
*Follow up by phone and email with all those expressing interest in volunteering.
*Maintain a record of all recruitment and outreach work
*Attends and makes reports to Uhuru Foods & Pies Recruitment team meetings
*Coordinates recruitment social media needs and actions with the Political Action Social and Print Media Coordinator

Knowledge, Skills, and Other Characteristics:
*Ability to win support for Uhuru Foods & Pies, Black Star Industries and promote the programs of the Uhuru Movement.
*Passionate about recruiting volunteers into the Uhuru Foods & Pies organizational structure
*Personable and people-oriented.
*Works collaboratively, team player.
*Self-motivated and has the ability to lead and motivate others.
*Detail oriented. Able to prioritize tasks and manage time well.

Qualifications
*Basic computer and internet proficiency or willingness to learn including managing simple Excel spreadsheets and Word documents, Google Docs and Hubspot.
*Some experience in promotions and marketing.
