COVID-19 has temporarily disrupted normal life in many communities, but the need for blood hasn’t changed.
The American Red Cross has implemented several enhanced blood donations protocols in the interest of safety, and there is an urgent and critical need for volunteers to support these protocols. A new volunteer opportunity, Blood Donor Screener, will help pre-screen blood donors entering drives or donation centers.
Red Cross is seeking individuals to fulfill this volunteer role immediately. To learn more and to sign up contact Betty Whittaker ( firstname.lastname@example.org ) or apply directly at http://volunteerconnection.redcross.org/?nd=intake&entry_point_id=37&entry_point_type=global_entry_point
Please also consider donating blood as we face an ongoing critical need for blood and platelet donations amidst coronavirus uncertainties. You can make an appointment to give blood or platelets at RedCrossBlood.org.
***When considering volunteering, please review the risk guidance provided by the CDC, local government and your healthcare provider. For more information or questions, you can contact Betty Whittaker. You will receive the Position Description for the Blood Donor Screener when submitting interest to this position. If you are willing and able to fulfill the duties of the position, please complete the volunteer application at http://volunteerconnection.redcross.org/?nd=intake&entry_point_id=37&entry_point_type=global_entry_point
