During these uncertain times, how can we help?
See below to access our COVID-19 Resource Hub, and to explore our growing directory of both COVID-19-specific and virtual volunteering opportunities.
We are looking for a team of committed instructors to join our artistic team and help us launch an all girls', competitive drum corps which will include girls ages 8 to 18! Please visit www.souldeevas.com to learn more about our organization.
The drum corps. is being branded as a semi-pro organization, but will be a program for girls who have never been exposed to a drum corps before. The program does not currently exist - so the instructors will spend the next few months in the planning phases of the program.
The team will practice once a week during a schedule most convenient for the instructors who join us. As of this writing, we anticipate the team to begin in Rahway (Union County), but eventually end up in South Amboy (Middlesex County). Instructors must be flexible enough to make this adjustment as the goal is to permanently house the team in South Amboy.
During the planning phases, instructors will help us - (a) determine the number of children who will be served; (b) determine the days/times for practices; (c) determine how practices will be run; (d) help plan a budget (which will ultimately include stipends for the instructors, but will start with equipment needed to launch the program); (e) determine a registration packet for parents; (f) find high-visibility events for the group to perform at.
Interested candidates should respond letting us know about their drum corps/drill team experience and any burning questions that they have. We will respond immediately. Thank you for your interest and please stay safe and sane.
