We are forming a fundraising committee of both experienced and novice fundraisers. The committee will research and form the fundraising strategies presented to the board for debate and approval. Our first fundraisers include:
-a winery dinner party with silent auction
-flagpole race fundraiser
-online solicitation campaign

The fundraising committee will advise the board during board retreats on long term strategic financial planning with the goal of restoring the entire facility. At it's heydey, Gilroy Hot Springs had 2 hotels, a club house, a functioning barn, 2 Japanese bath houses, multiple soaking pools and 50 cabins for overnight guests. At the current moment, we have 3 cabins only and are about to add new soaking facilities.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to restore public access to the healing waters and extraordinary historical heritage of the Gilroy Yamato Hot Springs, a valued natural and cultural resource.

Description

The goal of the Gilroy Hot Springs Conservancy is to restore public access to the healing waters and extraordinary historical heritage of the Gilroy Yamato Hot Springs, a valued natural and cultural resources. The San Francisco Bay Area currently has no public resource similar to this one, so the project is uniquely positioned to service an unmet need for the community. The most formidable task of the project will be to provide both a safe soaking and recreation environment, including the ongoing funding for the operation, while generating the funding required to fully restore the property over time.

This goal will be achieved by implementing a conservative five year plan, initially using volunteer power to restore and re-open key areas of the property that will solidify the financial basis of the project. Once these foundational goals are met and the basic concept proven, the partnership will be a springboard for generating resources for restoring, re-opening and staffing each section of the property, as the funding is generated. The ultimate goal of this partnership is to fully restore the property to its previous historical glory.
