ORGANIZATION: COACHING CORPS

During the current isolation orders, we are in need of supplies ( food, paper products, hygiene supplies) that we can deliver to our Scholars and their families and use to stock up our resident homes once we reopen. Once we can let the Scholars return to our homes, we will have volunteer opportunities in tutoring, mentoring, dinner donors, and project focused volunteering. If interested please follow the link below!

Mission Statement

To ensure that all kids get to reap the benefits of playing sports with a trained, caring coach.

Description

Coaching Corps recruits, trains and supports energetic community members to use sport to teach kids valuable life lessons and inspire them to reach their full potential.

Coaching Corps was founded in 2002 with support from the Evelyn and Walter Haas, Jr. Fund, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the San Francisco Foundation. Since its inception, Coaching Corps seeks to use sports and the power of coaches as vehicles for transformative change for youth in underserved communities.

To date, we have placed over 13,000 coaches with hundreds of afterschool sports programs, serving over 150,000 youth in underserved communities across the country.

By making trained, caring coaches available to established community partners, Coaching Corps coaches help create safe, structured environments that promote character-building, encourage an active and healthy lifestyle, and cultivate positive relationships with peers and adults.

How We Work:
By pairing qualified coaches with afterschool sports programs, we can provide youth with a fun experience that enhances their positive development.
