¡Ben! ser un voluntario con nuestro en nuestro programa Visitante Amistoso adonde uste puedes desarrollar una relación amistoso con un mayor en Boston. Estamos en busca de voluntarios que hablen español, y que estén interesado en llamadas Virtual o por (teléfono, Skype, Facetime, texto, etc.)

Cuando las visitas sean en persona. Visitantes amistosos visitan una vez a la semana, para tomar café o té, pueden compartir historias, ir a caminar, escuchar música, asistir en tareas pequeñas. Nuestro programa pregunta por un compromiso de 9-12 meses. En este tiempo las personas se conocen empiezan a sentirse más cómodo y desarrollan una amista.
FriendshipWorks fue fundado hace 35 años para ayudar reducir el aislamiento social, mejorar la calidad de vida y preservar la dignad de los mayores en Boston. Este trabajo se lleva a cabo reclutando voluntarios de todas religiones, y antecedentes que brindan amistad, defensa, asistencia, y apoyo emocional. Los voluntarios son fundamentales para ayudar a abordar los graves riesgos de salud que plantea el aislamiento social en la comunidad de mayores, incluyendo la aceleración del envejecimiento celebrar y cardiovascular.

FriendshipWorks, formerly MATCH-UP Interfaith Volunteers, recruits and trains caring individuals to assist elders living in the Boston area. Our mission is to decrease the isolation that too often comes with age and disability, to promote well being, and to enhance the quality of life of elders. We have seen firsthand the difference ongoing companionship and support can make both for our care recipients and our volunteers.
Description
FriendshipWorks offers a variety of support services to elders in the Boston area. We make friendship matches between volunteers and elders. Volunteers often provide companionship, read aloud, take walks, or assist someone with errands. In addition to ongoing companionship, FriendshipWorks provides one-time assistance such as volunteer escorts to and from medical appointments and respite for family caregivers.
