You’re help is needed more than ever! Brookdale Hospice serves a senior population who reside in both their private homes and senior living environments. Our seniors have been hit hard by the pandemic and support is very much needed. We are seeking volunteers who after the restrictions are lifted and it’s safe, (or even prior if it can be done remotely) to support our patients facing end of life. The smallest gestures do mean so much. Here are some ways you can help support our mission of "believing every day of life matters".

  • Writing personal cards to patients
  • Companionship calls to patients/families
  • Administrative support
  • Craft/card making
  • Donating homemade mask
  • Sharing art talents such as drawing, sketching and crafts
  • Recording music
  • And so much more...

We look forward to hearing from you! Please email Lynn at ccarroll@brookdale.com for more information.

Mission Statement

Enriching the lives of those we serve with compassion, respect, excellence and integrity.

Description

The philosophy at Brookdale Hospice is that life is much more than physical health; it also includes the health of the human spirit. When physical health begins to fail, the nurturing of the spirit becomes critical for maintaining the dignity of the individual.

Volunteers are an important part of our hospice team, filling roles that include direct contact with patients and clerical support. Medicare requires the utilization of volunteers alongside paid clinical and administrative staff. Hospice volunteers describe their work as gratifying, intellectually stimulating, and emotionally meaningful. We value our volunteers greatly.
