About the position

The organization is accepting volunteers that wants to gain experience working on team projects that would benefit the public within the organization's purposes. This opportunity is for inexperienced and experience developers. Use of the volunteer's skills will be tested in hackathons, and when we publish application on the apple store and Google play. Skills that will be improved are team collaboration, communication, how well you adapt to different coding languages, and how much you understand front end and back-end code.

Do you have the ability to?

• Contribute actively to end-to-end development lifecycle from design to delivery and post-delivery support.
• Follow best practices of development and optimize existing approaches used in our teams.
• Write clean, modular, reusable, testable and scalable code including active participation in peer reviews.
• Work with customers to troubleshoot blockers and propose efficient solutions.

Best if you have

• Knowledge of object-oriented programming, development frameworks and expertise in programming languages like Java, NodeJS, and JavaScript.
• Problem solving mindset and ability to collaborate or network across teams.

All volunteers strongly affiliated with Comida For Familias, Inc. are provided access to digital tools, services, and transportation benefits based on their profiles and needs. These resources incur regular operational costs as we develop the apps and services that support our scientific, educational, and charitable goals. Therefore, we encourage each applicant to fundraise for the amount of $270 to cover for the costs associated with this position. (We want to emphasize that we asking for volunteers to fundraise, and not directly asking for funds. We are being upfront about the costs associated with this position.
