Habitat loss and fragmentation are the biggest drivers of species decline and extinction worldwide. O ver a million species are currently at risk of extinction. Fragmentation reduces the ability of wildlife to migrate, find mates, disperse (establish new territories), and may limit their access to food and water. Fragmentation also limits wildlife’s ability to adapt to climate change. As the climate warms, wildlife will need to move to more suitable habitats. Connections northward and upward will be particularly important as our climate warms to provide pathways to cooler climates, including mountain ranges.
Pennsylvania is primed to augment the leadership role the state has already taken around connectivity. That's why we're working to pass a bill through the state legislature to commission a study on the feasibility of and need for wildlife corridors in Pennsylvania. Come join us to build support across the state, making biodiversity and habitat connectivity a priority for cities, counties, and our state legislators!
You will help with social media outreach, planning lobby meetings, expanding and strengthening our network of volunteers, and a lot more!

Mission Statement
The Endangered Species Coalition’s mission is to stop the human-caused extinction of our nation’s at-risk species, to protect and restore their habitats, and to guide these fragile populations along the road to recovery.
Description
We work to safeguard and strengthen the Endangered Species Act, a law that enables every citizen to act on behalf of threatened and endangered wildlife - animals, fish, plants, and insects - and the wild places they call home.
We use grassroots mobilization, education, and targeted campaigns to enable every American to participate in actions that impact the democratic political process.
We are a national network of conservation, scientific, education, religious, sporting, outdoor recreation, business and community organizations - and hundreds of thousands of individual activists and supporters - all dedicated to protecting our nation’s disappearing wildlife and last remaining wild places.
