Volunteer in a retirement or long-term caring facility through LITA's:
One-to-One program - Social engagement with one or more resident friends
Pet Connection program - Bring your well-behaved pet to visit with one or more residents in a nearby facility
Family Connections - All or part of a family unit who visits with a resident
Assist a facility Activity/Recreation department - Help the Activity staff set-up or break down an activity, call bingo, play games or work puzzles with residents, decorate for events/holidays, help residents with an art/craft project, read to the vision impaired, lead a sing-a-long. Are you an artist? Consider sharing your form of creativity by leading and instructing an interested group of older adults.
LITA Office Assistance: Help with bulk mailings, special events, fundraising, and other clerical tasks.
