Epic Life Ministries is a faith-based non-profit organization with a mission to provide professional counseling services, supports, and resources through collaborative community efforts to children, teens, adults, and families in Southwest Missouri.

We are relationship-centered, faith-infused, and community-focused.

We provide professional mental health services in our community, and surrounding communities, with programs that focus on serving those that are underinsured or uninsured, as well as those who have insurance/Medicaid.

Epic Life Ministries is growing and is currently seeking a Volunteer Office Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to impact their community!!! The Volunteer Office Assistant serves an essential role in strengthening and empowering individuals, marriages, and families to have healthy relationships with each other, in their workplaces, within the community, and with God.

This is an unpaid volunteer position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Volunteer Office Assistant has a variety of responsibilities which include, but are not limited to:

- answering calls/taking messages
- greeting clients in a friendly and professional manner
- making copies
- send and receive faxes reliably
- data entry/filing, as needed
- accepting payments
- scheduling appointments
- manage tasks efficiently to ensure completion in a timely manner
- other administrative tasks as assigned by the Executive Director and/or Clinicians
- abide by Epic Life Ministries' Volunteer Policies and Procedures
- abide by Epic Life Ministries' Confidentiality Agreement

This position helps to extend Epic Life Ministries resources to better assist and direct the needs of our clients.

Volunteer Requirements

The Volunteer Office Assistant must:

- have good listening and communication skills
- be self-directed, willing to take initiative, and detail-oriented
- have the ability to support others in crisis with a non-judgmental, empathetic response
- have the ability to communicate professionally with clients, volunteers, the Executive Director, and Clinicians
- respect and maintain the confidentiality of Epic Life Ministries' volunteers, partners, donors, and clients
- be 21 years or older
- be able to commit to an agreed-upon schedule in accordance with volunteer availability and the needs of Epic Life Ministries
- agree to a criminal/child abuse and/or neglect background check

Training & Supervision

The Volunteer Office Assistant will:

- report to the Executive Director of Epic Life Ministries
- complete Epic Life Ministries' Volunteer Orientation
- complete TBRI Caregiver Training (offered via Epic Life Ministries' TBRI Practitioner at no charge) within 120 days following the 60-day probationary period

Time Commitment & Experience

The Volunteer Office Assistant should be available:

- during weekly staff meetings (1-2 hours)
- 3 days per week (9-12 hours, with afternoon availability)

Experience not necessary, but helpful. Training will be provided.
