A SCORE legal mentor is an resource who helps individuals and small businesses reach their goals. Mentors provide free legal education to aspiring entrepreneurs and existing business owners.
As a mentor, you’ll help clients discover options to resolve legal issues, determine the best legal organization structure, and assist with developing long-term business plans. Additionally, you may gain insight that will help advance your own business and leadership style. Teaching others how to manage their legal challenges, along with illustrating ways to succeed in other aspects of business could inspire you to continue with your own professional growth-all of this while helping your local community.
The ideal mentor is empathetic, flexible, and loves connecting people to the right resources. Mentors often have significant experience within their field, excellent communication skills, and the ability to dedicate a few hours a week.

SCORE, America's premier source of free and confidential small business advice for entrepreneurs and small businesses, is a nonprofit resource partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). We have over 300 SCORE offices across the country and 10,000 volunteers offering free business mentoring and low- or no-cost workshops.
For over 50 years, SCORE's thousands of working and retired business professionals have volunteered to support the success of small business nationwide. SCORE business mentoring is free and confidential.
