We are seeking to recruit volunteers whose main responsibility would be to expand BATURU’s international connections by helping to build a network of like-minded people and organizations. This will be done by establishing relationships with art institutions, professionals and universities. Volunteers will also have the chance to represent our organization at relevant conferences and other social events.

Tell stories about women made by women
The Crossroads Centre was established in 2003 as a local Chinese social enterprise based in Hong Kong and Beijing. It aims to raise awareness of the many issues that confront women and other marginalized communities in China and around the world through the mediums of film and art. In addition to hosting an annual China Women’s Film Festival and 1905 International Human Rights Film Festival, the Crossroads Centre organizes art exhibitions, cultural forums, and workshops to challenge socially constructed and outdated perceptions of gender roles. We hope that these events can serve as a platform for female activists, academics and artists to present their work and begin an open discussion among the Chinese community about the multitude of challenges facing women to this day and the importance of combating them.
