Are you looking for ways to give back to the elderly in your community?

Enhabit is looking for volunteers to provide support to patients during their final months and weeks of life. As a hospice volunteer, you form part of a team that strives to ensure that the patient and family's needs are met. Enhabit values the generosity of our volunteers and provides training and ongoing support. Many of our patients have limited access to getting out. We would love to see the life-changing things you could do for them.

Here are just a few specific ways hospice volunteers can help our sweet patients:

-Provide companionship and socialization
-Help with general office support
-Provide respite services for caregiver/family
-Run errands for patients and families
-Write a journal or life story with patients to give to the family
-Play games, read, and listen to music with patients
-Walk/care for family pets
-Assist with light house cleaning
-Provide bereavement support
-Provide music therapy to patient
-Weekly phone call to let them know they are being thought of!

And many other opportunities!

Reach out to Lady for a chance to make the finals days of our patients lives as comfortable and joyful as possible!

About Enhabit Health-Hospice

751 Elba Highway, Troy, AL 36079, US

Mission Statement

At Enhabit Health - Hospice, we believe hospice is not a place, but rather a philosophy of care. Our goal is to bring dignity and comfort home by offering compassionate care to patients and their families during the final stages of life.

Enhabit Health is looking for a Hospice Volunteer to provide administrative support to patients during their final months and weeks of life. Volunteers provide non-medical services and respite time for caregivers and family members. As a hospice volunteer, you will be given choices as to how much and what types of things you want to do.

A few ways you can help as a hospice volunteer is by running errands for patients and families, playing games or reading with patients, walking and caring for family pets, or even creating a photo album of the patient and their family. You can also help out in the office performing administrative tasks such as answering the branch phone, making porch visits with patients, delivering patient supplies to homes, and much more!
