Volunteers are integral to the Medical Center's mission of providing high quality, cost effective health care in a compassionate and respectful environment supported by research.

We provide a wide variety of services, including acute, post-acute and outpatient hospital care; palliative care and hospice services; preventive and complementary care and health education. Volunteers can serve patients and support nursing staff in a variety of ways such as answering patient call bells, ensuring fall precautions are in place, discharging patients, supporting anxious families, helping Alzheimer's patients through music, storytelling and art, helping patients make menu choices ... helping in the emergency room, serving as the receptionist who greets patients and their families as they enter the lobby seeking information.
