California Pacific Medical Center is one of the largest private, not-for-profit, academic medical centers in Northern California and is a Sutter Health affiliate. Our Mission is to provide the best quality service to our patients. Volunteers are integral to the Medical Center's mission of providing high quality, cost effective health care in a compassionate and respectful environment supported by research.

California Pacific Medical Center provides access to leading edge medicine while delivering the best possible personalized care. We provide a wide variety of services, including acute, post-acute and outpatient hospital care; palliative care and hospice services; preventive and complementary care and health education. Through our medical education program and our Research Institute, physicians at California Pacific are able to bring health care innovation to the bedside.

The Medical Center enjoys a rich history of caring for the people of San Francisco since it is comprised of the three oldest hospitals in the City.

We have more than 100 volunteer service descriptions for you to consider.

Volunteers can serve patients and support nursing staff in a variety of ways such as answering patient call bells, ensuring fall precautions are in place, discharging patients, supporting anxious families, helping Alzheimer's patients through music, storytelling and art, helping patients make menu choices ... helping in the emergency room, serving as the receptionist who greets patients and their families as they enter the lobby seeking information.
