Having a purpose like volunteer improves our health by increasing our immunity, and brings joy to our hearts, know that, even at home, we are connected, doing something for others.
With the governor's stay-home order extended, RSVP calls YOU to volunteer from HOME:
Make paper hearts and put into windows for neighbors to see
Call a friend
Talk to others about food security for all Minnesotans
Recruit people to donate food or cash to local food shelves
Talk to others about the importance of giving blood
Volunteer Virtually with the American Red Cross
Write thank you letters to a health care professional
Write thank you letter to an essential worker such as grocery store staff, mail carrier, trash collector, police, fire fighter, or any other organization continuing to serve.
Research arts, crafts, entertainment, and other resources for staying at home that we can share with volunteers
Donate lunch to healthcare providers or essential workers

*All volunteers must be 55 and older to qualify for the RSVP Program. RSVP is a volunteer network for people 55 and older serving the community in Hennepin, Scott, Carver, Washington, Ramsey, Dakota, Mille Lacs, Kanabec, Isanti, Chisago, and Pine Counties. RSVP offers additional benefits to volunteers.
RSVP offers maximum flexibility for people 55 and over who want to find challenging, rewarding, and significant service opportunities in their communities. RSVP Volunteers work with local organizations to have impact on critical needs in several focus areas: literacy, housing, food security, independence and well-being for seniors and persons with disabilities, economic opportunity, and service to veterans and military personnel and their families. We give volunteers the flexibility to decide who and how frequently they serve and we support volunteers with placement assistance, free supplemental insurance, and other benefits.
RSVP partners with over 80 nonprofits in the six- county metro area, so we can find you an opportunity that matches your skills, interests, and geographic location. We have hundreds of opportunities in areas such as:
Citizenship--for new Americans
Companionship Education/Literacy--for children and adults
Independent Living for Seniors
We'll work with your schedule.
