  • 48 people are interested

Here is what you would need to do:

Record a video right from your home to share with our members through our virtual programming platforms including YouTube and other social media.

  • Videos typically get the best response when they are about 3-5 minutes long, but video length is up to you!
  • Some content ideas to consider: Reading a book to the members, demonstrating a skill that you have, teaching a craft, teaching a sports skill or yoga routine.
  • Please be sure to state your name and that you are volunteering for the Boys & Girls Club at the beginning of your video.
Once you have recorded your video, please email it to virtual.club@lbgc.org. From there, our staff will review the video to ensure that it follows BGCGL policy. We will then post videos to YouTube for our members to see. Some videos will also be posted to our other Social Media platforms.

Mission Statement

To inspire and enable young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.

Description

With more than 100 years of history, the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell has been serving generations of the community’s youth as a safe place to learn and grow. We currently have over 300 club members, and we strive to help them develop into valued, impactful citizens within their community.

Currently, 21.5% of the Lowell population is in poverty, making Lowell the 16th most impoverished city in Massachusetts. In the 2015-2016 academic year, almost 20% of Lowell High School students did not graduate within 4 years.

The purpose of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell is to provide the youth of Lowell with a safe space to challenge themselves academically, engage with their peers, adopt healthy habits, and become valued members of society.
