The Richard M. Brodsky Foundation is seeking and Broadcaster with experience writing and broadcasting original audio/video scripts and for use in radio, television and internet postings about international affairs for audiences of varying backgrounds and interests. The Foundation has recently produced a video and trailer for a film titled World AIDS Marathoners Love Affair With Kenya in July & August, 2020. The videos can be found on youtube channel WorldAidsMarathon, 1:37:10 and 6:06. These videos need to be shared on social media.

For the last 14 years, the Foundation, a delegation of doctors’ and volunteers have visited Kenya, hosting many events for orphans, artists, dancers and on December 1st, the World AIDS Marathon is held, attracting runners from all over East Africa and worldwide. The running event is for runners of all abilities and ages as there are is a wheelchair division, half marathon, relay teams, children’s runs. The 2019 World AIDS Marathon was the best year to date, sponsoring 4 orphan dinner-dances for 1,197 orphans and provided medical care for 698 orphans. The purpose of the film is to encourage Kenyans and everyone to stay safe and at home in light of COVID‑19. The video will showcase the Foundations love for Kenya, it’s land, animals and people for the past 14 years, testimonial from those who have made the trip and singers showcasing various original and Kenyan songs. During this time of uncertainty, the video’s content and inspirational ideas rejuvenates the hope and confidence that at some point in the not too distant future this situation will be behind us and in 2020, the Foundation will make its 15th visit to Kenya with a renewed fervor. All of the proceeds will benefit the Foundation and the Kenyan projects it supports.

Richard Brodsky, the Founder and President of the Richard M. Brodsky Foundation, and his wife Jodi have been married for 40 years, the same number of years Richard has been living with HIV and brain cancer. Richard is now age 67 and according to internet searches, is the only marathon runner who is also living with HIV and is a brain cancer survivor. Richard ran 5 marathons and Jodi ran 6 marathons in 2019. Says Richard, "I may not be a brain surgeon or rocket scientist but one thing I did figure out...if you are able to help others, you feel good about yourself and if you feel good about yourself, you can run marathons!" Richard’s wife Jodi has agreed to run a marathon with him for his 100th birthday.

Richard Brodsky was diagnosed HIV+ in 1997; five years later he was diagnosed w/ terminal brain cancer. A year later he finished the 2003 NY Marathon. He realized he was blessed to have great medical care in America; why couldn't we help people in poorer countries? In 2004 the Richard M. Brodsky Foundation funded the World AIDS Marathon in Mbita, Kenya, whose proceeds helped fund an orphanage there. 14th annual World AIDS Marathon. World AIDS Day, 2019, Kisumu, Kenya, plus providing medical care at 4 orphan dinner dances on Nov 28, 29, 30 and Dec 2. Only AIDS run or walk on Long Island. 8th annual Great Neck North High School co-ed faculty sports night, April 4, 2019. Grant for 4 painting lessons, lunch and dancing (April - July, 2021) for 40 kids (half special needs) + tutored by 5 Kenyan artists at JIU PACHI, CBO, Eunice Owino, CEO, is hosting event. Richard's story is chronicled in the book Richard Brodsky's Journey of Hope. The COVID video is a plea for everyone to take the vaccine. I'm 68; 6 weeks after taking the vaccine I ran my fastest marathon in the past 20 months. The video is also a plea for America to share its vaccine w/ poorer nations. 30 presenters from diverse backgrounds share powerful message to end this global pandemic.
