Open Architecture New York is seeking a Communications Director to join our Board of Directors. The Communications Director will design and manage promotional materials, and will oversee OACny’s social media presence.

Responsibilities include:

- Plans and implements a communications strategy.
- Analyzes OACny’s social media and online presence and researches ways to expand it.
- Creates engaging content for both print and Web including the website and the newsletter.
- Maintains presence on social media platforms: Facebook and Instagram.
- Designs marketing and promotional materials to be distributed online.
- Documents events and projects development for promotion on major media outlets.

Requirements:

- Possess a solid understanding of effective marketing techniques.
- Must have excellent writing and editing skills.
- Be able to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Be detail-oriented.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills.
- Exhibits proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Adobe Suite including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign.
- Background or experience working in a marketing or communications position preferred.
