During these uncertain times, how can we help?

CASA volunteers are trained and supported to promote the best interests of children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. They have the opportunity to improve the life of a child by advocating for the services and support that all children need: a permanent home, education, and healthcare.
The CASA role includes:
Through these activities, CASA volunteers are instrumental in facilitating access to the material, educational, and physical and mental health services necessary for each child to thrive.
Benefits: CASA volunteers receive ongoing support from staff, developing their personal and professional skills. Volunteers also connect with like-minded individuals. Many of our volunteers say that being a CASA is the most personally rewarding role they have played, either paid or as a volunteer.
The first step toward becoming a CASA is to participate in our information session webinar, where you will learn in more detail about how to become an advocate. You can register for the online webinar at: https://casala.org/infosessionweb/.

CASA of Los Angeles mobilizes community volunteers to advocate for children who have experienced abuse and neglect.
For 40 years, CASA/LA has been the only organization in Los Angeles providing court-appointed advocates to children in foster care to help them navigate not only the trials of the courtroom, but also the trials of a challenged childhood. Being a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) is unlike any other volunteer opportunity. CASA volunteers become a critical part of a young person’s life; a stable, steadfast adult who cares about the child over the long term without ever being paid to do so.
CASA volunteers make a difference for children in foster care. Unlike most professionals, CASA volunteers are paired to work one-on-one with a child to ensure they have the services and support needed in the areas important to all children: a stable home, education, and healthcare. There are 30,000 kids in the foster care system in LA and many need the support of a CASA volunteer. Join us!
We'll work with your schedule.
