The Events Specialist Intern facilitates planning committee meetings, including distributing agenda and taking minutes. Assist with donor acknowledgment and guest follow-up. Assist with ensuring the content of the special event on the website, ticketing website, and silent auction site is updated. Assist in managing and implementing a plan for securing silent auction items. Act as a liaison between the organization and vendors, including negotiating pricing and pre-selecting options to present to the organization while maintaining the budget for the event: update guest registration, seating information, and related data entry. Create and coordinate the drafting/distribution of promotional materials, sell tickets, manage event staff and volunteers, and cover the logistics of the event. The intern will learn the importance of client interactions and the sense of one's responsibility to the community. As well as a better understanding of one's values and sensitivity to other views and values. This position is 15-20 hours a week.
