Overview:
We are seeking a few volunteers to join the Outreach Committee on our Associate Board. We are looking for someone who is passionate about community outreach, connection, partnerships, member appreciation, and/or with an HR background.

An Associate Board is a "working volunteer board" usually comprised of young professionals between the ages of 21-45, and does not have legal governance responsibility for the nonprofit. The group is advisory and provides fundraising (events, sponsorships, grants), marketing, program development, & volunteer support. Members can use this opportunity to learn philanthropy from the inside of a nonprofit and to network professionally with their peers and gain new friends. Additionally, they learn how to work on a board and prepare for experiences in governance. Although certainly not the only motivation, it also enhances the resume of a young professional person as well.

About Us:

Global Orphan Prevention is a 501(c)3 nonprofit who strives to keep mothers and children together through economic development, awareness, and education, We work to address the orphan trade and child sex trafficking.

We seek Denver-based volunteers who are:

• Committed to helping underprivileged children and widowed/abandoned mothers in Nepal, India, and Denver
• Committed to using social entrepreneurship and educational opportunities to help eradicate and alleviate income-generating hurdles in the regions we operate
• Interested to stop the child sex trafficking trade and orphan home trade

The Board Member will provide strategic guidance to the organization, as well as fundraising, marketing, or program strategies. A desire to leverage network and contacts to further the organization's mission. Strong communication and people skills are desired. Strong marketing skills a plus.

Requirements:

• Expertise in community outreach, awareness campaigns, connection, partnerships, member appreciation, human resources, etc
• Desire to learn about Developing Countries, Social Enterprise, Child Trafficking
• Self-starter with strategic leadership skills
• Ability to work independently and be self-managed
• Passion for serving children and youth, and making a difference
• Commit to an annual "Give/Get" by donating or raising self-imposed amount per year
• Ability to serve 12-months, with the option to renew
• Attend 75% of Board meetings, committee meetings, and events
• Devote 5-15 hours/month for additional Board business
• Serve as a Global Orphan Prevention Ambassador in their personal and professional communities
