At Compassus Hospice, we care for people who have been given the prognosis of 6 months or less to live. It is our goal to provide the best quality of life at the end of life for our patients through a holistic, person-centered approach. We are seeking volunteers who would like to make activity lap blankets and aprons for our patients living with dementia. People living with dementia still feel the need to be productive, far into the disease and activity blankets and aprons can be the way for some of them to do that. With the ability to zip, lace, button, buckle, etc., they can be occupied for a bit and feel a sense of accomplishment and contentment. If you enjoy sewing and being creative, as well as supporting those at the end of life, this might be a volunteer opportunity for you.
If you feel called to give the gift of your time and talent please email Kim Iannacci at firstname.lastname@example.org or call the office at 978 777-8222. I can provide further direction for these projects if you are interested.
You can make a difference in the life of someone at the end of life!
