ALONG WITH MANY PROGRAMS, THE 2020 OHIO INVENTION CONVENTION, PRESENTED BY HONDA, HAS BEEN IMPACTED BY THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. A COMPETITION THAT WOULD BE HELD LIVE, AT THE OHIO STATE FAIR, IS NOW GOING ONLINE.
500+ amazing young innovators will be competing for over $20,000 in college savings awards, presented by CollegeAdvantage 529, along with other prizes and awards. We need judges to watch and score these 500+ videos for our online competition. You do not need experience, just an enthusiasm to make a difference in the lives of children all over the state of Ohio. Training will be provided.
The Invention Convention program is designed to activate a FREE project-based learning curriculum through school, state and national showcase events. Students learn:
- To think critically by identifying problems in their world.
- The impact of inventions in their lives.
- To apply STEAM, invention and entrepreneurial skills building real-world solutions.
Why is this important? Aligned with national standards, our K-12 invention education program can be used within any discipline by tapping into students’ innate desires and abilities to identify problems and create meaningful solutions.

Description
Offered cost-free to all students in the state of Ohio - The Invention Convention inspires students in grades K-12 to create and problem solve, while developing their inventions. Hundreds of thousands of Ohio kids have participated since 1993, creating useful, sometimes crazy and always interesting inventions.

REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 18
- Judges will be assigned 10-15 5-minute pitch videos to watch and score. More videos will be available, for those interested. These videos will be available for judging purposes June 15 - July 7.
- Judging instructional videos will be available to you. You do not need experience to judge, just an enthusiasm to make a difference in the life of a child.
