POSITION TITLE:Instructional Designer

DEPARTMENT: Learning & Development

OBJECTIVE: School Group is looking for qualified volunteers to help design programs for our e-learning platform with a focus on peer-to-peer learning.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Design, develop, and author highly effective, results driven curriculum to support the learning and development needs of students.
  • Ability to develop compelling collateral materials
  • Engage/collaborate with appropriate stakeholders and SMEs to conduct needs analysis
  • Leverage highly developed technical skills in curriculum development to build powerful eLearning’s, podcasts, videos, and webinar training content, exhibiting strong graphical design acumen
  • Work independently to meet deadlines while coordinating with and soliciting input on materials from subject matter experts
  • Use assessment tools & solicited feedback to provide recommendations for updating & improving content and program effectiveness
  • Collaborate with IT department to design program using the SG e-learning platform
  • Develop train-the-teacher document and incorporate techniques for teachers to help all students learn in a low-income country
  • Weekly reporting and update of status of development of material on project management tools.

The successful candidate should have:

  • Previous working experience in instructional design for three years
  • In-depth knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
  • Lesson and curriculum planning skills
  • Basic HTML and Flash programming knowledge
  • Visual design skills (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio and video scripts
  • MA degree in instructional design, educational technology or similar relevant field

This is a volunteer position. There will be no financial compensation. Our organization is 100% volunteer run. We welcome volunteers located anywhere in the world, as long as they can connect reliably to the internet.
