Do you want to make a difference for our planet and get hands-on work experience at an international conservation NGO? Rainforest Partnership (RP) is a non-profit based in Austin, Texas, with team members in the US and Peru. We conserve and restore tropical rainforests by working with communities to develop sustainable livelihoods that empower and respect both people and nature.

Rainforest Partnership is looking for a Social Media Specialist to join our Asian Outreach team. The position will be filled as soon as a suitable candidate is found.

This position is unpaid but may be claimed for class credit. The expected time commitment is a minimum of 10 hours per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Working with the team on programmatic planning
• Writing, translating and editing materials for digital and social media channels (WeChat, Baidu tiedu)
• Working closely with the internal teams
• Research and development (market, trends, target demographics etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS

• Throughout knowledge of social media marketing and market development.
• Familiarity with WeChat.
• Great team player with the ability and passion to develop relationships with others.
• Ability to pay attention to detail, especially on data, and the ability to conduct quantitative analysis.
• Fluency in both English and Chinese is required, with great reading and writing skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Photoshop is preferred.
