Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, the Red Cross needs your help more than ever as fewer volunteers are able to support our critical blood collection efforts. Donating blood is a safe process and people should not hesitate to give or receive blood.
Red Cross Blood Donor Screener
- Perform temperature screening on potential donors, volunteers and staff prior to their entry into the blood drive.
- Provide excellent customer service to enhance the blood donor experience.
Why is this role so important?
This position serves as gatekeeper by providing additional screening the American Red Cross has implemented in the interest of the safety of the blood supply, recipients, other donors, staff, volunteers and general public health regarding COVID-2019 outbreaks.
Requirements
- Ages 18+
- Available weekdays and weekends
- Professional Communication skills
- 3-4 hs shift per month
- 1 hr training needed (provided by RC)
Safety measures
Measures are taken to ensure the safety of donors, staff and volunteers: besides checking the temperature of staff and donors before entering a drive, we provide hand sanitizer for use throughout the donation process and also spacing beds, where possible, to follow social distancing practices between donors.
