Volunteer with Ballotpedia to cover COVID-19
Many of you know and trust Ballotpedia as your go-to source for neutral coverage of American politics. While this is still very much the focus of our content, we think it’s important to give our readers somewhere to go to learn about government reactions to COVID-19. Ballotpedia is hard at work compiling as much information as possible about the ways the pandemic is affecting our government at the local, state, and federal levels.
With over 15,000 localities in the United States enacting their own various ordinances, we need help beyond our professional staff to centralize all local government actions for the American people, especially as things continue to change so quickly.
Now, we're asking for your help in compiling how local governments are responding. This would include local shelter-in-place orders, school closings, restrictions on business activity, and any other documented ways the coronavirus is affecting your community. We will use the information you collect to provide our readers with the most up-to-the-minute coverage possible. We are deeply grateful for any assistance you can provide to us.
Please find more information below, and as always, thank you for supporting Ballotpedia! How to help
