A Disaster Action Team (DAT) is a team of trained Red Cross volunteers that respond to the scene of a disaster to deliver Red Cross services. DAT volunteers ease the difficulties of people unexpectedly overwhelmed by disasters. You would be called on to engage with clients, first responders, and the public. To be a DAT member, you must be 18 years or older; in good health and willing to make a commitment to a team. Disaster training is required as well as attending special sessions, regular meetings and drills. You must be available to be "on-call" for a block of of time each month. Shifts are flexible.
