The Carerstrust East Midlands supports carers and their families across Nottinghamshire in a number of ways. One of these ways is by providing ad-hoc, one-off, support on a need by need basis.
The two most recent support activities were:
- Clearing the garden of a mature lady who was unable to do it herself and it was causing her, and her son who cares for her, much distress
- Painting the kitchen and living room for a disabled gentleman following a burst water pipe that caused significant damage to the walls
We usually get a request once every two to three months. These provide volunteering opportunities for those who do not want to make a regular commitment but they want to get involved in something within their local community.
We are looking both for people who just want to get involved with no specific skills or hobbies, and those with specific skills or hobbies such as decorating and DIY.
This volunteering opportunity is suitable both for individuals/couples who want to get involved and for businesses/community groups that want to a team build with a voluntary element.
Contact the Carerstrust East Midlands on 0115 824 6666 or 07860 957571 for more information abput becoming a 'Community Project Volunteer'
