Hello from Saint Therese! We want to let you know that we’re doing well and making the best of these challenging times. Without our on-site volunteers, the staff are working hard to provide lots of extra TLC to Saint Therese residents with visits, reading, facilitating FaceTime calls with family, etc.

But... we still need volunteer support! Below are ways you can help.

JOIN OUR SLEEVE TEAM!

Help us transform existing short sleeve hospital gowns into long sleeve isolation gowns. There are a few ways you could help with this project:

  • Donations of bed sheets can be transformed into sleeves, which are then attached to short sleeved gowns to create reusable isolation gowns for our nursing staff. If you have bed sheets that you could donate to this cause, we would be very grateful. This is a good opportunity to clean out your linen closet!

  • Donations of thread, elastic, fabric, or gift cards to Joann Fabrics or Michaels’ to help procure these supplies.

  • Sew sleeves. If you can sew a face mask you can sew a sleeve - I promise! We have a simple pattern and instructions to cut sleeves from sheets (or other fabric). We can provide the supplies for you. If you’re up to it - you can sew the sleeves onto gowns that we provide, or we can sew the sleeves on for you.

Please contact volunteers@sainttherese.org or 952.283.2210 if you would like to help with this project or would like to learn more. We’ll connect you with the support you need.

TREATS, CHEER, SUPPLIES, PRAYERS....

Treats for the hard-working staff, cards and letters of cheer for residents, fun activity supplies for the residents, and prayers for everyone...please keep it rolling - it is greatly appreciated!

We are so grateful for the handmade face masks that have been lovingly sewn and donated. Together, among all the Saint Therese communities we have received over 4000 face masks! The varieties of style and fabric are amazing, and the creativity when elastic is in short supply is impressive. Thank you so much!!!We would love if you can bring your sewing skills to our Sleeve Team!

Donations can be left at the front entrance of any Saint Therese community clearly labeled as a Saint Therese donation. Be sure to include your name so we can track volunteer support and thank you. Please see our website for locations https://www.sainttherese.org/ Please spread the word with your family and friends - we’re all in this together!
