Are you a licensed therapist looking to make a difference in the lives of seniors experiencing anxiety and depression?

Join our team at GoldenTALK, our senior chatline, where we provide comfort and support to seniors in need. Your expertise will help bridge the gap for seniors seeking mental health assistance, providing them with immediate comfort until they can connect with a mental health program in their community.

Responsibilities:

  • Offer empathetic and supportive conversations to seniors contacting GoldenTALK for assistance with anxiety and depression.
  • Provide comfort and reassurance to seniors, utilizing active listening and empathy to address their immediate emotional needs.
  • Collaborate with our team to gather relevant information and resources to help seniors access mental health programs in their community.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines while engaging with seniors on the chatline.
Requirements:
  • Licensed therapist (LCSW, LMFT, LPC, PsyD, or equivalent) with active licensure in your state.
  • Compassionate and empathetic nature, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to provide emotional support and comfort to seniors in distress.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in mental health practice.
  • Bi-lingual proficiency in languages other than English is desired but not required.

Our mission is to compassionately serve and empower low-income, homeless, and socially isolated seniors within Los Angeles County, with a special focus on those from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds, the LGBTQ+ elderly community, and seniors with disabilities. We are dedicated to breaking the barriers of social isolation through innovative and inclusive social isolation prevention programs. Our comprehensive approach includes assistance with system navigation, financial assistance, housing navigation assistance, and advocacy. We are committed to fostering a connected, supportive, and vibrant community where every senior feels valued, included, and engaged.

The I Did Something Good Today Foundation (IDSGT), a 501(c)(3) public charity established in 2018, is driven not by the pursuit of income but by the impactful outcomes we deliver. Rooted in our mission to serve and uplift low-income, homeless, and socially isolated seniors in Los Angeles County, especially those from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds, the LGBTQ+ elderly community, and seniors with disabilities, we dedicate ourselves to combating social isolation. Embracing our vision of a connected and inclusive community where every senior is valued and engaged, IDSGT Foundation innovates and implements various social isolation prevention programs. We also provide essential services, including housing and health navigation, financial assistance for urgent needs, and a range of community programs and workshops. Our commitment is to ensure that every senior we serve experiences a life filled with dignity, respect, and meaningful connections.
