COVID-19 Update: As the public has heeded the call from our elected officials and health care experts that blood donation is an essential activity during the pandemic, the Red Cross has experienced a surge in willing donors at our blood drives. Some of our volunteers are taking a step back from service out in the community, which we fully support. This increase in donor interest and shortage of volunteers is taxing our workforce and we are in great need of additional volunteers to help staff new blood drives throughout the area.
Help the Red Cross save lives with a little bit of your time and a friendly smile. If you enjoy meeting people in your community and letting them know how valuable their contribution is then you can be a Donor Ambassador at Red Cross blood drives. Donor Ambassadors greet guests at blood drives, help them get checked-in, encourage them to take time to recover after their donation and most importantly, thank them for their precious contribution. The Red Cross collects and distributes about 40 percent of our nation’s blood supply. When you help create a fulfilling donation experience and encourage visitors to come back, you’re helping to save up to 3 lives.
