End of life can be a scary journey for some-imagine making that journey on your own. Share your compassion as a Vigil Volunteer for Alliance Hospice and share the gift of comfort.

Vigil Volunteers are a highly valued and vital part of Alliance Hospice's Care Support Team.

Vigil volunteers are volunteers that can just be present with the patient, provide reassurance, or even holding a hand and offering prayer. These volunteers learn through experience, the need for companionship and support either for the patient or the family or both during their final journey here on earth.

Our vigil volunteers provide the support and physical presence that patients and family’s need. Vigil volunteers can do that by being a calm presence, sitting together talking, listening or in shared silence. Volunteers offer healing touch through hand holding, aromatherapy, singing or playing inspirational music individually or in a Threshold Choir group.

We will make sure you are well-trained, equipped, and supported by our Hospice & Bereavement Team.

Patients and families value the personal touch volunteers bring to an emotional process at the end of life’s journey. During 2020 many of our volunteer opportunities have transitioned to VIRTUAL opportunities- Contact Volunteer Program Coordinator Theo Eghdami @267.858.1088 or Teghdami@alliancehospice.com for additional details on how to start your hospice volunteer journey.
