GoldenTALK, a program launched by the I Did Something Good Today (IDSGT) Foundation, serves as a lifeline for seniors seeking companionship, support, and resources. Seniors can call our chat line to engage in friendly conversations, receive emotional support, and access valuable resources as needed. GoldenTALK volunteers play a vital role in brightening the lives of seniors and providing them with the connection and assistance they deserve.

Position Overview:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to volunteer for the GoldenTALK Senior Chat Line. As a volunteer, you will answer incoming calls from seniors via our smartphone app, ensuring their privacy and confidentiality are maintained. In addition to chatting with seniors, volunteers may also make outbound calls to return voicemail requests or conduct wellness checks for seniors at the request of their family members. Your kindness and willingness to lend an ear can make a world of difference to seniors in need.

Responsibilities:

• Answer incoming calls from seniors on the GoldenTALK chat line, providing companionship, support, and assistance as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and privacy while engaging with seniors, respecting their dignity and autonomy at all times.
• Use our smartphone app to manage incoming and outgoing calls, ensuring seamless communication with seniors.
• Follow established protocols for returning voicemail requests and conducting wellness checks for seniors at the request of their family members.
• Adhere to the foundation's guidelines and policies for volunteer conduct and communication.

Qualifications:

• Compassionate and empathetic nature with a genuine desire to help others.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable using technology, including smartphones and chat apps.
• Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages is highly desired, as we are in need of bilingual volunteers.
