Come have fun while making a difference!

In an effort to protect the vulnerable population of people that we serve, we are screening volunteers before allowing them into the warehouse.

Before signing up to volunteer, please consider the following:

  1. Have you traveled internationally, traveled by airplane, or been on a cruise in the last 14 days?
  2. Have you had contact with anyone with confirmed COVID-19 in the last 14 days?
  3. Have you had any of these symptoms in the last 14 days?
    • Fever greater than 100
    • Difficulty breathing
    • Cough
    • Sore throat
    • Loss of smell/taste
  4. Have you been in close contact with anyone with the listed symptoms?
  5. Are you currently experiencing any of the listed symptoms?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, we greatly appreciate your desire to serve our community, but ask that you do not sign-up to volunteer at this time for the health and safety of others. Continuity of operations at Feeding Northeast Florida is critical as we adjust to the developing needs in our community.

MASK POLICY

We require everyone - regardless of vaccination status - to wear a mask while volunteering indoors with Feeding Northeast Florida.

Volunteers are the heartbeat of our operation.

Volunteers represent an integral part of Feeding Northeast Florida’s ability to help provide food to people in need in our community. Last year, volunteers helped us distribute 25 million meals!

Feeding Northeast Florida involves hundreds of volunteers each week in various aspects of our operation. We have individual and group opportunities at our distribution center for those who are 16 years of age and older. We also offer offsite volunteer opportunities at our mobile pantry distributions for those who are 5-15 years old.

Food Sorting (Onsite @ FNEFL) *Ages 16 & Up

You can help fight hunger Tuesday through Saturday with our warehouse food sorting volunteer opportunities. You will help ensure high-quality, safe food is being distributed to clients by working with teams to inspect, categorize and package food items. Depending on the day, we may be sorting donations of shelf-stable items, bagging fresh produce, or repacking frozen items. Volunteers age 16 or older are welcome to participate.

At this time, we offer the following food sorting shifts:

  • 8:30 - 11:30 am - Tuesday through Friday; several Saturdays per month
  • 12:30 - 3:30 pm - Tuesday through Friday; several Saturdays per month

Maximum of 20 volunteers per shift.

Mobile Pantry Distribution (Offsite @ Various Locations) *All ages, unless otherwise listed

Mobile Pantries take place on select days throughout each month. Here, volunteers pass out food directly to our neighbors in need. All ages are welcome, unless otherwise listed in the event's detail section.

Maximum number of volunteers depends on location.

Individuals

Each individual volunteer must create an account at https://fnefl.volunteerhub.com/ to register for volunteer shifts. All volunteers 16 - 17 years old must bring a hard copy waiver (provided electronically upon sign-up) signed by a parent/guardian to their first volunteer shift, along with a form of identification that includes their birthdate for age confirmation.

Groups (5 or more volunteers)

To reserve spots for a group...

  • View our volunteer calendar at https://fnefl.volunteerhub.com/ to find a shift with enough availability to accommodate your group size.
  • Once you find a shift, email volunteerprogram@feedingnefl.org. Please include the following information in your message: Name of group, number of volunteers, shift date and shift time.
  • Wait for a response to confirm your group’s reservation. This will include a registration link specifically for your group.
  • Share your group’s personalized registration link with all group members so that they can create an account and sign-up for the shift.

*Please note that we currently have a maximum cap of 20 volunteers per shift.

Please note...

All volunteers must be scheduled in advance. We cannot accommodate walk-ins.

Closed-toe and closed heel shoes are required for participation.

Our warehouse does not have air conditioning or heat so please dress according to the weather.

We DO NOT accept court-ordered community service volunteers.
