It is not surprising that hospice volunteers consistently describe their experiences as personally rewarding and fulfilling. Helping others as they near the end of their lives is a profoundly moving experience.

As a Vigil Volunteer, you provide comfort and create a peaceful presence for the patient at bedside when the patient's death is imminent. A Vigil Volunteer receives special training at Brookdale Hospice to become part of the patient's holistic team-- Doctor, RN, Chaplain, Social Worker and you!

Good Match for:

  • Teens
  • Students in Gerontology, Health Science, Kinesiology, Social Work, Nursing, Counseling, Case Management, and all fields of study involving Customer Service.
  • 55+ age group
  • Heart to serve with compassionate care

Hospice is a philosophy of care focused on comfort and quality of life at the end of life. It's designed to treat the whole person emotionally, socially, spiritually and physically by providing comfort and support to patients and their families.
