Pre-pack bags of groceries, unpack and stock items, and place groceries in clients’ vehicles. Opportunities in Wheaton, Westmont, and West Chicago.

Social distancing, masking, and safety protocols will be followed at all sites.

Because West Chicago is within a school, the state masking mandate will also be followed.

What would make you a good fit for this opportunity?

  • You are 13+yrs old
  • You can stand for 3 hours and lift 25lbs (3gal of water)
  • You are willing and able to help where needed in the pantry each time you volunteer
  • You enjoy working both indoors and outdoors
  • You are available during these times :
    • Wheaton/Westmont - mornings, afternoons, or evenings
    • West Chicago- Tuesdays, 3:30-6pm

The West Chicago location is especially in need of volunteers who know (or are eager to learn!) basic Spanish phrases.

Since 1975, People’s Resource Center has been bringing neighbors together to respond to hunger and poverty in DuPage County. With a team of over 1,500 volunteers, we offer nutritious food and other basic necessities like clothes and rent assistance for people facing tough times. And we connect people with resources--education and tutoring, jobs, technology, art, a caring community--to create a future of hope and opportunity for all.

Volunteer at PRC: Help in the food pantry or clothes closet, become a tutor, teach a class, organize a food drive, make a difference to a neighbor in need.
