As an organization with lots of playtime, Kids On The Move could use some extra help disinfecting classrooms and clinics so that our children stay healthy and happy. Volunteers will use our sanitizer machine or disinfecting spray/wipes to clean toys, furniture, and other surfaces. We can provide cleaning supplies, but welcome donations! During certain seasons, we could also use help with yard work.
This opportunity is ideal for groups of any size and most ages (examples: a parent and their 8 year old, or a group of 40 co-workers). Scheduling can be flexible. Contact Shannon at volunteer@kotm.org or 385-292-5628 with details of your group size, age range, and desired schedule (day of the week and time availability, or a specific date) to get something planned! Kids On The Move has a small location in Lehi that could also use cleaning!

Mission Statement

Supporting the development of young children and families

Description

At Kids On The Move, our mission is simple: to support the healthy development of young children and families in Utah.

We empower families, one kid at a time, to lead more successful lives and to be less dependent on government assistance through five major service programs:
Early Head Start, Early Intervention, Respite Care, Child and Family Mental Health, and our Autism Center.

Early Head Start focuses on low-income families facing challenges, such as teen or single parents. They also learn how to make nutritious meals and how to set and achieve goals for family self sufficiency.

Early Intervention enhances development and reduces the impact of disabilities and developmental delays for infants and toddlers. We provide services such as speech, physical and occupational therapy, family training, nursing and social work.

Respite Care is the temporary care of children with special needs, providing a short period of rest or relief to their usual caregivers. We provide Respite Care to families of children with special needs to give them a 3.5 hour break on weekend nights so that caregivers can relieve stress, renew energy, and restore balance.

Child and Family Mental Health offers a wide range of mental health services important to all family members.

We’ve expanded our Autism Center to prepare kids older than three with social skills and learning experiences needed to successfully enter the school system. We provide families with the quality services they need, not just the services they can afford.
