In an effort to empower caregivers of all ages to protect, nurture, and support new solutions so that no cat suffers, Tree House is offering human education lessons to youth groups in our community. These lessons will cover a variety of topics from meeting animals’ five freedoms, to solving overpopulation through TNR, respecting feline communication, and more. We are looking for leaders who can provide an engaging educational experience that will allow attendees to use the lessons they’ve learned in their daily interactions with animals.
Responsibilities:
- Host the volunteer group, ensuring that they have a positive and engaging experience
- Answer any questions visitors may have
- Provide the group with an educational presentation and lead a group activity and craft project
- Lead a brief tour of the facility, including our Tree House Cats at Work Colony
- Instruct group members on how they can use educational takeaway items provided by Tree House along with the knowledge they’ve gained through their visit to advance our mission of seeing every cat thrive
- Provide Volunteer Coordinator with a post-event event summary
- Provide a minimum of 48 hour notice if needing to cancel for programming you have signed up to present (Those who do not provide 48 hour notice - excluding emergencies - will be dismissed from the role)
Qualifications:
- Comfortable speaking in front of a moderately sized group of people/willing to learn
- Detail-oriented
- Forward-facing personality
Training Volunteer Will Receive:
- Observation of 2 group presentations to shadow
- One-on-one training session with the Volunteer Coordinator
- Provided with program materials to review

Admission/Adoption: Tree House’s primary mission centers around the rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption of sick, injured, abused, and neglected cats. Since our founding in 1971, Tree House has rescued and adopted more than 25,000 cats.
Spay/Neuter Program: Tree House has sterilized several thousand animals through public spay/neuter as well as our Community Cats/T-N-R (trap-neuter-return) program.
