Primarily this project focus on:
construction of small outside kitchens, toilets, small security walls , water wells, water storage facilities for public schools, hospitals and other public buildings. The project help the local community, typically in communities in need of assistance and funding.
Community construction projects are mainly located in Arusha and Kilimanjaro regions.
However project locations varies significantly, it may be located at a walkable distance or located at point where taking a public transport (bus) is indispensable. However the average travel time is 25 - 30 minutes.
Note: Groups(at least 10) travelling together will use organisation’s vehicle for travelling to and from the project.
GTL has construction project managers who are expert in guiding and training volunteers.
Generally, participants (volunteers) must be
- devoted to work and ensure they get the full benefit of this project
- Not necessarily have any experience related to construction
- In good health
- Ready to work hard to join construction projects.
In community construction projects, volunteers will mainly perform the following activities:
- small repairs on floor, walls, roofs
- Laying tile and other kinds of flooring.
- Mixing cement
- welding, carpentry
- Plastering, painting
- Plumbing activities

Description
GTL started its activities in Kilimanjaro, initially we had one office located just adjacent to Ushirika University.
At present we operate across different regions in Tanzania. We have big hostels in Kilimanjaro and Arusha. We have offices in Kilimajaro and Arusha (HQ) as well.
We have a number of volunteer programs such as construction projects, environment projects, youth projects which are completely run and administered by our organisation, these projects are funded by our organisation through the support of our donors.
On other hand, we are working with government institutions such as schools, hospitals, agriculture dept in programs such as healthcare programs, teaching programs, agriculture programs however we also work with few private sectors this approach allow us to bring impact to the very needy group.
Each GTL volunteer program is designated to produce meaningful experience to our participants and at the same time cause a huge impact to the local community. While the volunteer program is underway we make assessment to ascertain if organisation goals and participant expectations are met
