Program tips:

This volunteer program is especially suitable for: Age 18+, Singles, Couples, Families, Groups and 50+
GTL has been highly applauded for efforts which have been taken so far environment conservation This volunteer program involve the following activities but not limited to:
- Tree planting
- special grass and flower planting
- Grass cutting
- General cleanliness in non hazardous areas In most cases we work with government institutions and very few private institution, we plant tree of different species depending whether conditions, soil and other factors. Tree nursery located in Longido and Tengeru are the main source of trees planted in different locations. The best time for this program is morning hours and evening hours. Grass cutting Volunteers cut grass in public locations and government institutions such as hospitals and other government offices. We normally use slashers for this activity. Generally cleanliness Volunteers get involves collecting plastic waste,and other type of non hazardous waste around public locations
Participants can engage in free time activities either during evening hours or weekends
Long safaris are done only during weekends
other activities includes: Concert,Music,Climbing,Safari,SportsRequirements: In order to join the program you need to be at least 18 years old on the program start date. There might be exemptions if you can provide the permission of your legal guardian(s) or if your are accompanied by your parents. Language Skills You need to speak English (basic level) Nationality Restrictions No restrictions. Helping hands from all over the world are welcome. Time Commitment Your helping hand will be required on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday What's Included Airport Pickup at Kilimanjaro International Airport
Our organisation provide airport pickup, we use our organisation vehicle we normally recommend the arrival time to something before 5.00 am 11.00 pm however if need we can also pick the volunteer during the midnight.
Accommodation volunteer can opt to stay in host family or in hostel with other volunteers Guest Family Bedroom (Single) Bedroom (Double) Youth Hostel Food & Beverages We normally provide two meals in a daybreakfast dinner drinking water, fresh juice, fruits, tea, coffee N.B alcoholic drinks are not part of the meal

Description
GTL started its activities in Kilimanjaro, initially we had one office located just adjacent to Ushirika University.
At present we operate across different regions in Tanzania. We have big hostels in Kilimanjaro and Arusha. We have offices in Kilimajaro and Arusha (HQ) as well.
We have a number of volunteer programs such as construction projects, environment projects, youth projects which are completely run and administered by our organisation, these projects are funded by our organisation through the support of our donors.
On other hand, we are working with government institutions such as schools, hospitals, agriculture dept in programs such as healthcare programs, teaching programs, agriculture programs however we also work with few private sectors this approach allow us to bring impact to the very needy group.
Each GTL volunteer program is designated to produce meaningful experience to our participants and at the same time cause a huge impact to the local community. While the volunteer program is underway we make assessment to ascertain if organisation goals and participant expectations are met
