Friends of Stockings for Kids
Stockings for Kids is entering its 25th year! Stockings for Kids is a gift-giving event that benefits enrolled children and siblings of Early Connections Learning Centers. Many of these children would not have gifts to open during the Holidays.
Stockings for Kids was developed in 1995 by a group of volunteers and has always been a volunteer led event. We are actively recruiting a team of volunteers to review the Stockings for Kids program, and make changes as they see fit. This team will also assist with all of the details leading up to the event, during the event, and after the event.
Responsibilities of Volunteer members:
- Define the desired outcome of Stockings for Kids.
- Identify any problem areas and areas of weakness with Stockings for Kids.
- Define roles and responsibilities for each member.
- Organize the details of the event
- Review and make recommendations to the brand and marketing media.
- Review the shopping list for each age group
- Assisting with recruiting day of volunteers and gift donors
- Helping with the logistics of the event
- Attend every meeting, as determined by the committee.
- Assisting during the lead up to the event, the day of the event, and post event.

Mission Statement
To provide high quality, comprehensive early care and education for ALL children.
Description
Early Connections Learning Centers (formerly Child Nursery Centers), was founded in 1897 to care for young children from lower income and working families. We operate five full-day, year-round centers for infants, toddlers and preschoolers and three before/after school and full-day summer programs for school-age children. Fees at all centers are based on family income. The Early Learning Ventures Alliance of the Pikes Peak Region, a partnership with independently-licensed child care Affiliates, offers the choice of smaller, more intimate settings and meets the needs of parents with non-traditional work schedules. Early Connections also operates Court Care, a free drop-in facility for children whose families have court-related business.
