Our vision is a world without Alzheimer’s and all other dementia. Join us in this fight by becoming an advocate.

We need dedicated, passionate advocates in and around Silicon Valley to advocate for Alzheimer's and dementia research, care and support in Congress and in our State Capitol. Whatever your availability or experience, you can help make a difference by sharing why Alzheimer's matters to you and driving your legislators to take action to improve the lives of everyone affected by Alzheimer’s or other dementia.

Your level of commitment is completely flexible to fit your schedule, style and skills.

Here are just a few examples of the kinds of things Alzheimer's advocates can do:

- Meet and educate their Members of Congress and state legislators about the impact of Alzheimer's and other dementia on their own lives and others in their community
- Attend our annual State Advocacy Day in Sacramento (May 8, 2023, act.alz.org/CAAdvocacyDay2023)
- Attend our annual National Advocacy Forum in Washington, D.C. (March 19-21, 2023)
- Write letters to the editor
- Build awareness through social media
- Work with a team of other volunteers in your area who are also passionate about ending Alzheimer's
- Use your personal experience and connections as a powerful force for positive change!

We will provide all the training and support you need, even if you have never written or spoken to a legislator before. The only requirement is that you have direct personal experience with, and are passionate about, Alzheimer's or other form of dementia.

Most advocacy can be done virtually, but there will be 1-2 events/year in Palo Alto.

About us:
The Alzheimer's Association is the leading voice for Alzheimer's and dementia advocacy, fighting for critical
research, prevention and care initiatives at the state and federal level. We are driving policymakers to take historic steps to address the Alzheimer’s crisis - click here to volunteer with us and be part of the solution!

Mission Statement

The Alzheimer's Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer care, support and research. Description

We provide programs and support services for patients, families, caregivers, and others in the San Francisco Bay Area affected by Alzheimer's disease and related disorders.
